The article refers to the latest IMF (upgraded, contrary to the US and EU where growth for 2009 and 2010 was further downgraded) growth figures for Brazil: -1,3% in 2009 and 2,5% in 2010. Many believe though Brazil will outperform these numbers.

Report: Country stress test: which countries are better equipped to fare through the crisis and improve their competitiveness in the near future. In other words, the test is future oriented – it focuses on exposure, readiness and resilience in a period of world recession. Brazil scores consistently better than Belgium, South Africa and most European countries. It especially scores much better on the parameters “business” and “society”.
